Truth & Lie Lab: Terms and Conditions
Truth & Lie Lab is committed to maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, transparency, and integrity in all polygraph examination services. These Terms and Conditions govern all client engagements and outline the procedures, requirements, and policies applicable to our lie detector testing services. By booking an appointment with Truth & Lie Lab, clients acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these terms.
- Identification and Consent Requirements
1.1 Valid Identification
All clients must present valid, government-issued photographic identification prior to examination. Acceptable forms of identification include:
- National Identity Card
- Valid Passport
- Driver’s License
Identification is required to verify client identity, maintain examination integrity, and ensure a secure testing environment.
1.2 Informed Consent
Informed consent is mandatory before any examination proceeds. Clients must:
- Review and understand the nature, purpose, and methodology of the polygraph examination
- Acknowledge any potential risks or limitations associated with the testing process
- Voluntarily agree to participate without coercion or duress
A formal Consent Form will be provided for review and signature. This document confirms the client’s voluntary participation and understanding of all examination procedures. Failure to provide a signed consent form in a timely manner may result in appointment cancellation and applicable fees as outlined in Section 3.
- Examination Procedures and Standards of Conduct
2.1 Examination Process
Our polygraph examinations follow industry-standard protocols and consist of three distinct phases:
Phase 1: Pre-Test Interview
A certified polygraph examiner conducts a comprehensive interview to:
- Establish rapport with the examinee
- Review the purpose and scope of the examination
- Gather relevant background information
- Establish physiological baseline responses
- Formulate and review all test questions
Phase 2: Test Administration
Truth & Lie Lab utilizes advanced polygraph technology, including:
- Eye Detection Technology: Employs infrared cameras and sophisticated algorithms to analyze micro-movements, pupil dilation, blink rates, and other ocular behaviors to assess response credibility
- Traditional Polygraph Instrumentation: Monitors physiological indicators including cardiovascular activity, respiratory patterns, and electrodermal responses
During examination, clients respond to a structured series of questions while physiological and behavioral data is recorded and analyzed.
Phase 3: Post-Test Review
Following examination completion, the examiner will:
- Analyze and interpret test results
- Provide clients with findings and professional insights
- Address questions or concerns regarding the examination
2.2 Client Responsibilities and Conduct Standards
To ensure examination validity and maintain a professional environment, clients must:
- Arrive punctually for scheduled appointments
- Abstain from alcohol consumption for 24 hours prior to examination
- Refrain from recreational drug use before testing
- Provide honest and complete responses throughout all examination phases
- Maintain respectful and cooperative behavior
Violations of Conduct Standards: Any disruptive behavior, attempts to manipulate test results, or failure to comply with examiner instructions may result in immediate examination termination without refund.
- Payment Terms and Cancellation Policy
3.1 Payment Requirements
Booking Deposit: A non-refundable 50% deposit is required to secure all local examination appointments. As for international bookings, full payment is required at booking.
Balance Payment: The remaining 50% balance is due immediately upon examination completion.
Accepted Payment Methods:
- Real-Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) bank transfers
- M-Pesa mobile payments
- Cash
Test Development Fees: Certain examinations require custom test development conducted by our parent company in the United States. Applicable fees include:
- Test Writing Process Fee: $70
- Test License Fee: $17
These fees are due immediately upon test development completion and are non-refundable once processing begins.
3.2 Cancellation Policy
IMPORTANT: Please review this cancellation policy carefully before committing to an appointment.
Minimum Notice Requirement: All cancellations or rescheduling requests require a minimum of three (3) full business days’ advance notice from the scheduled appointment date and time.
Definition of Cancellation: For purposes of this policy, “cancellation” includes any circumstance that prevents the scheduled examination from proceeding, including but not limited to:
- Client no-show or failure to appear
- Matter resolved prior to examination
- Unsigned or incomplete consent documentation
- Client-initiated postponement or withdrawal
- Any other client action resulting in appointment cancellation
Cancellation Fee Structure:
- Cancellations with 3+ Business Days’ Notice:
- Examination may be rescheduled within 30 calendar days
- Original test materials and questions remain valid
- Rescheduling administration fee: $50
- Cancellations with Less Than 3 Business Days’ Notice:
- Client is liable for 100% of the examination fee
- Examination may still be conducted within 30 calendar days using original test materials
- Late cancellation fee: $100 (in addition to standard examination fee)
- Beyond 30-Day Window:
- Original booking and all associated fees are forfeited
- New booking and full payment required for future examinations
No Refund Policy: Truth & Lie Lab does not issue refunds under any circumstances once a booking deposit has been processed. Clients may reschedule within the applicable timeframes and fee structures outlined above.
3.3 Company-Initiated Cancellations
In the event Truth & Lie Lab must cancel a scheduled appointment:
- Clients will receive advance notification as soon as reasonably possible
- Rescheduling will be offered at the client’s convenience with no additional fees
- Rescheduled appointments remain valid for 60 calendar days
- No financial penalty or fee applies to the client
3.4 Collections and Legal Action
Failure to remit applicable cancellation fees, examination balances, or other charges constitutes a breach of these Terms and Conditions. In such cases:
- Outstanding balances will be referred to professional debt collection agencies
- All collection costs, legal fees, and associated expenses will be charged to the client
- Truth & Lie Lab reserves the right to pursue all available legal remedies to recover outstanding amounts
- Data Privacy and Confidentiality Provisions
4.1 Commitment to Privacy
Truth & Lie Lab is committed to protecting client privacy and maintaining the confidentiality of all personal information collected during the examination process.
4.2 Information Security
All client data, including but not limited to:
- Personal identification information
- Examination results and analyses
- Interview notes and recordings
- Physiological data
is stored in secure, encrypted systems with restricted access limited to authorized personnel only.
4.3 Confidentiality Standards
Truth & Lie Lab adheres to strict confidentiality protocols:
- Client information will not be disclosed to any third party without explicit written consent
- Exceptions apply only where disclosure is required by applicable law or court order
- All staff members are bound by professional confidentiality agreements
4.4 Client Rights
Clients retain the following rights regarding their personal data:
- Access to personal information held by Truth & Lie Lab
- Correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
- Understanding of how personal information is used and stored
- Withdrawal of consent where applicable under law

- Limitation of Liability
While Truth & Lie Lab employs industry-leading technology and certified examiners, polygraph examinations are investigative tools and not infallible. Results should be considered alongside other evidence and information. Truth & Lie Lab makes no guarantees regarding specific outcomes and is not liable for decisions made based on examination results.
- Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of Kenya. Any disputes arising from these terms or examination services shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation or, if necessary, through the courts of Kenya.
- Amendments
Truth & Lie Lab reserves the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Updated terms will be posted at https://tll.co.ke/terms-and-conditions/ with the effective date as when read. Continued use of our services following modifications constitutes acceptance of updated terms.
By booking an examination with Truth & Lie Lab, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions in their entirety.
